Joey, age 10

"Mel always gets down to the heart of the matter. We love her. She understands how to deeply connect with all children in ways that are tailored to each child. She is truly a natural at her craft and I can recommend her with complete confidence."

Mack, Age 7

I have known Mel for over four years.  We met when my son began attending a private placement school where she was the OT.  When she started working with my son; he hated to color, could not hold a pen or eating utensil, refused to attempt to write his own name, could not put on his jacket or zip it up. Those are only to name a few things!  After her positive persistence and on-going re-evaluation of how the process was going with our family, our son began to emerge with new life skills.  Her love for making all children succeed is evident.  We would not be where we are today if it weren’t for Mel.  She is a one-of-a-kind OT!

charlie, age 6

I met Melissa (Mel) Horrigan when she started occupational therapy services with my son, Charlie. We had looked thoroughly for a knowledgeable, energetic, thoughtful and warm therapist, and were thrilled to have found all of those qualities and more in Mel. She approaches her work with such dedication and care. Mel is a perfect fit for pediatric therapy treatment. Her love for children is obvious in every interaction. My son made great progress under her watchful eye. His confidence grew, just as his coordination and motor skills improved. She set goals for Charlie and used her special way of motivating him to reach for those goals. I would highly recommend Mel for any type of occupational therapeutic services. Under her guidance, you are in safe and nurturing hands.

William, Age 3

My son started receiving occupational therapy from Mel in 2014, shortly after we moved to Maryland and a few months before our then 3 year old received his official autism diagnosis. We couldn't have asked for a better person to be on our team as we navigated this new state and diagnosis. She has been kind, loving, respectful, and patient. My son always enjoys spending time with her and he's made tremendous progress under her care.
