Yoga as therapy

The use of mindfulness and movement through yoga practice can serve as a coping strategy and self regulatory technique for people of all ages and abilities. As an occupational therapist and yogi, Mel recognizes the benefit of incorporating yoga as a complimentary practice into therapy sessions. 

Yoga As Occupation

In addition to using yoga as a complimentary practice to OT, Mel believes that exercise and movement is a meaningful occupation in itself. She has a meaningful personal yoga practice and teaches yoga to adults who are looking for balance in their life. Her style of yoga is focused on the breathe and using the asanas for recovery. It is appropriate for individuals looking for a meditative compliment to more a more vigorous exercise program.
